Las mujeres asesinadas tienen en común el oficio de la prostitución y una edad entre 19 y 29 años. Este poco genuino psicópata, pues su fijación por matar prostitutas ha sido tema de varias películas y corresponde a un perfil cliche de patología, ha elegido la asfixia y el estrangulamiento para cristalizar sus impulsos homicidas.
El diario británico “News of the World” ha ofrecido una recompensa de 250,000 libras a la persona que aporte datos contundentes para lograr la captura del asesino en serie. Por lo pronto las autoridades han diseñado operativos de vigilancia, han alertado a la población, en especial a las mujeres jóvenes, y han establecido líneas públicas de información para que la ciudadanía pueda aportar datos importantes para la investigación. La pregunta ahora es: ¿Cuántas cadáveres más serán depositados, desnudos, en los fríos bosques ingleses, antes de que este destripador contemporáneo sea aprehendido?
